The Kerrygold Ballymaloe Literary Festival of Food and Wine

The Ballymaloe Literary Festival of Food and Wine first launched in May 2013 and brought 8000 people onto the grounds of Ballymaloe House and the Ballymaloe Cookery School. 2016 was the 4th successful #Litfest and the festival attracts national and international authors, chefs, foragers, educators, wine experts, gardeners, publishers, TV presenters, bloggers, journalists and food and wine enthusiasts from around the globe.

The Dublin City Ramblers with Sean McGuinness

They have thrilled audiences worldwide for 35 years with their blend of ballads, folk, wit, and foot-tapping music.  Their first concert in the Grainstore will be a 'Rare Ould Time' featuring great tunes such as Flight of Earls, The Ferry Man, Four Green Fields, Nancy Spain and many more. 
 
The Ramblers impressive career has spanned more than 35 years, with over 30 albums, top ten hits, several awards for best ballad/folk group and, to top it all off, eight Gold Albums.  No wonder they are classed as Ireland’s Number One Group!

Spring Flower Arranging

Using predominantly wild and garden flowers. Iona will demonstrate her style of flower arranging creating seasonal displays.

This one-day course will offer budding and experienced gardeners alike an opportunity to explore the gardens and woodlands (weather permitting) at Ballymaloe House.

During this course you will be visiting the gardens - wet weather gear may be required.

You'll feel very, very good after a night of roof-raising jazz, soul and blues by the Chicago native and her four-piece band.  Karen has captivated audiences all over Ireland with her powerful, passionate and moving interpretations of the songs of Billie Holliday, Nina Simone, Dinah Washington, Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse.

Uilleann piper David Power; flute player Ciaran Somers; guitarist Dónal Clancy (son of Liam Clancy)

The tight-knit trio sing and play an assortment of traditional and contemporary styles, from rousing ballads and soft love songs, to lively dance tunes and haunting airs. A rare evening of magic music, delivered with style, flair and fun.

Pipers Union combines three-part harmony song and instrumental arrangements using guitars, bouzouki, mandolin, uilleann pipes, flutes, fiddles and whistles to create a beautiful aural landscape.

Martin McDonagh's first UK play in more than ten years has received rave, five star reviews from the critics.  A performance was recorded live on the stage of the Wyndham Theatre in London's West End.  It will be shown on a screen in the Grainstore.

Stargazers

Stargazers visit the Grainstore on Easter Sunday to celebrate the release of their new single, Paper Moon.

The band launched over three decades ago and while the line-up has undergone some changes over the years, the harmonies are as tight as ever! Stargazers have maintained the intrinsically musical and harmonious tone for which they're well known.  The trio are defined not only by their experience and skill as musicians, but also by the level of fun and entertainment they bring to each and every performance.
