Foster and Allen

Following on from the success of their No. 1 TV Show on TG4, Foster and Allen embark on an Irish Summer Tour which concludes in Ballymaloe Grainstore on Sunday 14 September. Mick Foster and Tony Allen continue to scale new heights after almost four decades in the music business. Their new 13-week series, The Foster and Allen Show, is currently airing on TG4 on Sunday nights.

Jimmy MacCarthy

One of Ireland's foremost songwriters, Jimmy MacCarthy, brings his ‘Prophecy/Conspiracy?' tour to the Grainstore on Sunday 24 August. The Macroom native has written classics of the Irish folk and contemporary repertoire including No Frontiers, Missing You, Ride On ,Katie, The Bright Blue Rose, The Contender, Mystic Lipstick, Song of the Singing Horseman, and many more. Jimmy has worked with major Irish artists such as Christy Moore, Mary Black, Mary Coughlin and Maura O’Connell and has released four albums of his own.

Brendan Grace

Amazing Grace is a phrase often applied to Brendan Grace and is very true indeed. The genial and much loved family comedian is celebrating 42 years in comedy and is now more popular than at any time in his career to date. And what an illustrious career it has been! Forty years ago when the 20-year-old Dubliner set off on his solo career, he could never have envisaged the life that lay ahead. Just two years later, he recordeed a Geordie song called Cushy Butterfield which sailed to Number 1 in the Irish charts, and the rest is history.

The Legend of Luke Kelly

On January 30th 1984 Ireland mourned the passing of arguably the greatest folk singer of the 20th Century. Luke Kelly is universally recognised as being the finest ballad voice the world has ever heard.

Supper Club : Guest Chefs

We are delighted to announce our guest chefs for our last Supper Club for the year. Ivan Whelan of Grapefruit Moon fame, Michael Quinn one of Irelands leading chefs and former head chef of Waterford Castle, Sally Mckenna author of McKenna Guides and leading expert on Seaweed and Aiden McGrath owner of Wilde Honey. The evening begins at 7.30pm and includes a set 4 course meal for €45 per person. There will be wines recommended to suit each course. These, as well as wines from our cellar, will be available to buy.

Personal Archive of Christy Brown Purchased in London This Week by National Library and Little Museum of Dublin Ballymaloe Cine Club announces the second film in the new series that combines casual,quality Ballymaloe food with a quality film. My Left Foot (Ireland, 1989), the biopic of Irish writer and cerebral palsy sufferer Christy Brown, will be shown at 8pm on Friday 11 April in Ballymaloe Grainstore, Shanagarry, Co. Cork.
