The iconic composer and musician is again joined by his NY-based sons, Owen and Moley whose unique style incorporates rap and beat box.

A White Christmas with Trish Rooney and Friends

Special guests Brendan McCahey (Voice of Ireland winner 2014) and Velvin Lamont (Voice of Ireland finalist 2013) Whether this Christmas is white or green, a festive night of seasonal songs, country, jazz and popular classics is in store. Cork chanteuse Trish Rooney has put together a big show of sensational singers and musicians, including Brendan McCahey, winner of the Voice of Ireland 2014, and Velvin Lamont, a 2013 Voice of Ireland finalist.

Christmas Flower Course with Iona

Iona is the in-house florist at Ballymaloe House and she uses predominantly wild and garden flowers. She will demonstrate her style of flower arranging and creating seasonal displays for table centres, posies and larger displays of country house flowers as well as seasonal floral decorations.

Equinox with Majorie Barnes

The Grainstore is delighted to be part of the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival for the first time and to present an exclusive performance by Equinox, a jazz quintet based in the Netherlands, featuring veteran American vocalist Marjorie Barnes. Born and raised in New York City, Marjorie Barnes has done it all from jazz to soul, R&B, Broadway and back. In a long and varied career, she has sung with legends such as Frank Sinatra, Lena Horne, Mel Lewis and many others.

Skylight - Screening

Bill Nighy, Carey Mulligan and Matthew Beard appear in the West End production of David Hare’s Skylight, directed by Stephen Daldry, which was recorded live in London's Wyndham’s Theatre in July of this year. We present it on a screen in The Grainstore.

Mick Foster and Tony Allen continue to scale new heights after almost four decades in the music business. Their new 13-week series, The Foster and Allen Show, is currently airing on TG4 on Sunday nights.

Jimmy MacCarthy

One of Ireland's foremost songwriters, Jimmy MacCarthy, brings his ‘Prophecy/Conspiracy?' tour to the Grainstore on Sunday 24 August. The Macroom native has written classics of the Irish folk and contemporary repertoire including No Frontiers, Missing You, Ride On ,Katie, The Bright Blue Rose, The Contender, Mystic Lipstick, Song of the Singing Horseman, and many more. Jimmy has worked with major Irish artists such as Christy Moore, Mary Black, Mary Coughlin and Maura O’Connell and has released four albums of his own.
