Educational Resources

Education and provision of information on environmental issues has become important for schools, colleges, government bodies, industry and the tourism sector. FHWS have been involved in various environmental education projects including the production of "West Cork Environment" information pack for West Cork Leader and delivering courses on environment related topics to PLC courses, third level colleges and community/environmental organisations.

With environmental issues gaining increasing press coverage and the development of curriculum based education packs from environmental and conservation groups, the environment is becoming an important teaching topic for students. For specialised issues such as water conservation and protection as part of a geography course, wastewater treatment as part of biology or indeed any range of environmental topics for discussion as part of transition year, a slide show can be organised for your school to suit the needs of the class and the timetable.

For two examples of related projects carried out by FH Wetland Systems Ltd. visit the West Cork Leader site or the Sustainable Architecture lecture course at St. John's college site in our links page.
