Check in to your comfortable country house room at Ballymaloe House and spend Tuesday afternoon relaxing at the house or enjoy exploring our farm, gardens or East Cork coast by walking the cliff walk in the nearby picturesque fishing village of Ballycotton. That evening sip an aperitif by the fire in our Drawing room before a leisurely five course dinner at Ballymaloe House.  Wake up Wednesday morning to the peaceful sounds of the countryside and our award winning Irish breakfast, before heading over to Ballymaloe Cookery school to register for the 9.30am Sushi Made Simple half day course. 

The intensive half-day demonstration by Shermin Mustafa will demystify this jewel of Japanese cuisine. Using fresh fish straight from the boats in Ballycotton Bay, Shermin will create sublime sushi and sashimi. Shermin will start by explaining the ingredients, basic equipment and techniques required, giving you the confidence to serve it to guests at home or in a restaurant. Sushi gets the ‘thumbs up’ from cardiologists and nutritionists – not least because it is based mainly on fresh fish, seaweed, vegetables and rice, but it is also low in saturated fat, high in vital omega 3s and rich in vitamins and minerals.
