Within seconds of walking through the doors of Ballymaloe House I was already planning my next visit. Not textbook restaurant reviewing, admittedly, but there you go.
There is a calm, restful air about the place, emphasized by the high ceilings, copious artwork, and comfy couches. The muted decor in the dining room – plush burgundy carpets and cerulean wallpaper – soothes the senses. Mobile phones, scourge of modern life, cannot be used here.
