Commis Chef

We are looking for a motivated Commis Chef to join our award-winning kitchen team, led by the Executive Head Chef, Dervilla O’Flynn.

The successful candidate loves to cook, can work independently and takes pride in what they produce. This role will involve a blend of precision and creativity, aligning with Ballymaloe's commitment to a luxury dining experience. Our menus change often, we cook with the seasonal produce from the walled garden and local producers. Read more about our farm-to-fork principles.

Day-to-day duties will include:‍

• Assisting in food preparation in various sections.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and ensure the kitchen operates smoothly.
• Work closely with senior chefs to learn and execute recipes based on seasonal ingredients.
• Adhere to Health & Safety procedures.
• Comply with the food hygiene practices and food safety standards (HACCP)
• Attend training within the Department as required.
• Wrapping unused items & storing them in proper areas at the end of a shift.
• Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen after service.
